![]() Elizabeth Frankenstein on Her Wedding Night
Inspired by Kenneth Branagh's movie of Frankenstein. Worn as co-host, with Darth Vader, of the Famous Dead Person's Ball in 1995.
I made 18th-century stays, using some historical pattern that I can't remember. It was fully boned, and all I recall is that edging the tabs was a bitch (but I gave up trying to make it look too pretty since I was just gonna splash the whole thing with blood anyway :-). I wore this over an old renfaire peasant chemise/nightgown.
The scene in the movie is Elizabeth, in bed, waiting for her new husband to return. Instead, Frankenstein's monster appears and rips out her heart. How romantic!
I really wanted to have a beating heart to carry around or have falling out of my chest, but there wasn't time. Buckets o' blood had to suffice.
