While not perfectly accurate, the suit and pillbox hat were vintage 1960s. What made the costume, IMO, was the gore. I used several shades of red puff paint, both glossy and matte, plus two colors of grey felt. I chopped the felt into pieces and roughed up the edges. Then I glued them to the skirt and covered with the paint, using news pictures from the era as a guide. A black bobbed, flipped wig was the finishing touch.

Did I mention that the party's theme that year was "sick and twisted"? And that Jackie had just died? Yeah. Good taste was not the goal.
