version 1.1 Introduction These rules were specifically written for the Toreador clan in Nightfall, a vampire LARP running in Edinburgh, however, it was suggested that wider distribution couldn't hurt (famous last words). I've tried to adapt them to be a general as possible. The only valid purpose of writing rules for something (especially in the area of live-role-playing) has to be that some kind of system or mechanic is required to support the role-playing. These are not really intended to be rules for gaining Prestige, as such, more as a set of mechanics that will ease the use of Prestige and make it more important in the game. I intend here to set out my idea of how Toreador society and Prestige should work, point out in what ways my experience of LARPing Toreador falls short of this, suggest reasons why, and lastly propose some mechanics which I hope will get round this problem.
