I’ve finally been beading. Watching an awful Sharks game is apparently more conducive to beading than watching an engrossing Bronte adaption.<\/p>\n

Doesn’t look like much, does it? Well, it isn’t. I suspect Mom has gotten farther along on her sleeve, even though she started later than me. And hers will look much tidier, of course. She’s already complained to me that the big beads are a smidge bigger than the larger pearls, so they don’t sit perfectly flat against the pearls and shouldn’t we put a dab of glue along each and every one so they stay lined up?<\/p>\n

Who is this woman and why is she such a perfectionist? Or more to the point, who’s child am I? Was I adopted? Maybe it’s true, I am a midget she bought from the gypsies at the circus like she teased me when I was a kid. Because for all our similarities, sometimes it’s like we come from different planets. But I’m grateful for her help, don’t get me wrong! I couldn’t do this without her. And my stepmom-in-law Deb will also be coming over on Saturday to help bead the forepart (note to self: pattern and cut forepart before Saturday).<\/p>\n

When I cut everything out, I realized the pearls on the fabric are actually two sizes — rows of larger and smaller. So we’re beading the larger row with the bigger red beads and the smaller row with the seed beads. Fits well and gives a little contrast.<\/p>\n

The whole thing is a royal pain in the butt. Much easier to toy with the micro settings on my camera than bead another row!<\/p>\n

Tomorrow night is dinner for Mom’s birthday, so no sewing. Can sew Thursday. Friday, Bridget is coming over for Hogwarts Event planning, maybe dinner, probably not sewing unless we end early (and we never end early). So I need a marathon sewing and beading session on Saturday if I have a real hope of finishing this thing in time for the feast!<\/p>\n
