Thanks to help from this Threads article<\/a> (which is actually the cheatsheet for a full article<\/a> that’s more about theory), I successfully graded a pattern that I’d scaled up from Hunnisett.<\/p>\n

I’m pretty decent at sleeves, but I usually guess and have to make three muslins to get the right fit. The Threads article showed me how to measure and get the right grade, slash ‘n spread, and *ta da* right size in the first try. Ok, technically not the first try, since I did make a muslin of the very first scale-up just to see how much the book’s size didn’t fit me. I think Hunnisett’s patterns are about a modern 6 or 8 dress size, so up we go.<\/p>\n

The graded muslin was perfect, now I have a pattern to cut from the fabric, plus I know how much bigger to scale the ruffles to match. Wheee, I’m learning.<\/p>\n
