I was about to post a picture of trim pinned to the Carnivale gown’s stomacher and ask “is this too much?” and then I realized, no, there is no such thing as “too much” on a Carnivale gown. It’s like a Spinal Tap “none too black.” Add moar trim! Big fluffy craaazzzy trim!<\/p>\n
(Not that I want to get expectations up — it’s just one ruche on the top edge of an already-patterned fabric. My gown will sadly not be like the uber-awesome maschera Carnivale costumes with 15 hundred layers of trim and beading and subtle gaudiness. I aspire to that but don’t have the time, nor materials. But I do have the cahones, imnsho \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n
Progress is being made, schedules are being kept. However, I’m bailing on the SCA’s Crosston Ball because I want to get farther on trim tonight.<\/p>\n
Tomorrow, Mom will come over and pin up my hem. I should be able to cut out all the self-trim tomorrow, though I don’t know if I’ll be able to sew it all on in one day. But next weekend, I *should* be able to finish it.<\/p>\n
I’d like to make myself a purse too, though I could use my old basic black drawstring bag, if necessary.<\/p>\n
That’s it for sewing. There’s a few travel-planning tasks left, minor stuff. Today, we received in the mail actual paper tickets for the hot chocolate in costume cafe event! That’s pretty cool. The one costume ball we’re going too, we just have an email voucher. But these paper tickets are fancy.<\/p>\n
