Thus, tonight I cleared away some sewing room cobwebs (and unfortunately discovered cat pee; our cats are not pee-ers either, they’re pukers, so this was disturbing). And I patterned out all of the slightly complicated Valois gown sleeve. Enormous crazy padded roll, giant pouf, fitted arm. Garbage bin full of muslin later, and it’s a sharpie-ed, pin-basted work of art. No pix, no time!<\/p>\n
Had to take a break to pack garage sale goodies, and I need to get in bed at a decent hour. But I wanted to record this to tell myself, yes, it can be done. Unwilling flesh can be made to work.<\/p>\n
Tomorrow night: Cut the fabric. Can’t promise to sew it all, since there’s a lot of pieces and I have to cut linings and interlinings and battings.
