I was hosting a small daytime party at Carnevale 2024 — it was a gaming salon with a “fancy loungewear” costume theme. Since I’d be running around as hostess, I needed a simple, practical outfit (but still fabulous ;). Luckily, I already had a\u00a0custom-made “Carlotta” Spiderweb Robe from Nicoletta Carlone<\/a> in purple that I’d ordered the previous year during a sale. That was perfect to wear over a vintage slip, tights, and with black flats.<\/p>\n

At home, I tried to practice styling my own hair in victory rolls and while I could kind of do it, this required wet-setting my hair in curlers the day or night before and spending a solid hour styling my hair. Ain’t nobody got time for that, especially when you’re running an event! So I looked around for hairpieces or a full wig and found this Peggy Pinup Wig style by Mias Monster Mash<\/a> on Etsy. She could do the style in my preferred purple color and delivered promptly. OMG I LOVE THIS WIG. This is what I wish my hair was, and the color is what I get my hair looks like when it’s freshly dyed. The hairline is a perfect fit, and the wig is easy and comfortable to wear. I did lacquer the rolls like crazy with hair spray before traveling and packed it in a box with tissue paper, but other than that, it’s perfect as-is.<\/p>\n
