I had one last-minute “stretch goal” costume for Carnevale 2025 that I managed to finish — I wanted to use the 2 yards of bisexual stripe silk from Silk Baron<\/a> to make a jacket from the tried-and-true JP Ryan 1750-1780s jackets pattern. I also had some purple taffeta in the stash that coordinated well to make a petticoat.<\/p>\n

I also had a purple tricorn that I bought several years ago (maybe in Venice?) but hadn’t used yet, so I trimmed it to match, including a bi pride pin and an embroidered trans pride pin from Twan Lentjes<\/a>. I also accessorized the outfit with rainbow pride-ish collet necklaces from AliExpress and a custom Carnevale themed chatelaine from Queen and Cavendish<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I’d planned to wear this outfit for an 18th-century meetup with friends, but first I had the chance to join a photoshoot by Laure Jacquemin<\/a> with my friend Cindy, who took these behind-the-scenes pix during the shoot.<\/p>\n
