Sew What, Part Deux

Posted on June 11, 2006 by Trystan

I guess the next thing I can start on is the underskirt. I have the underpinnings, and it doesn’t require the bodice to be finished. Maybe, just maybe, if I’m very focused this week, I could cut that out. I find it terribly difficult to sew on weeknights, just don’t have the energy and inclination after a full day at work, plus exercise after work (which I haven’t been doing but really must get back to), plus cooking dinner, plus whatever chores and everyday crap need to be done each night. So weekends are the only time I feel I can really sew. And I have few weekend days free. Argh.

Oh, here’s the beautiful corset Donna made for me! I supplied white coutil for the inside and black brocade for the outside. She added red silk binding (done by hand, she’s a doll 🙂 as a treat. Also, spiral laced with hand-bound eyelets, because she’s a pro. Looks and fits divine — I think this is the most comfortable corset I’ve ever had. Certainly the style is easier on the bod than the classic Victorian hourglass. Not as waist-cinching, just moves the girls up and out, plus no hip issues.
