1940s Spiderweb Robe & Victory Rolls

Purple Spiderweb Gown

I was hosting a small daytime party at Carnevale 2024 — it was a gaming salon with a “fancy loungewear” costume theme. Since I’d be running around as hostess, I needed a simple, practical outfit (but still fabulous ;). Luckily, I already had a custom-made “Carlotta” Spiderweb Robe from Nicoletta Carlone in purple that I’d ordered

1910s Suffragette

vintage 1910s gown, Votes for Women, photo by Sandra Brenchley

A vintage 1910s black silk gown I found online. This November 2016 photoshoot by Sandra Brenchley (who also did the photo effects) was around the theme of a historical suffragette mourning the presidential election. We took these photos in the San Jose Rose Garden.

1930s Black & Grey Dress

Posted on September 11, 2006 by Trystan

Shortly after Gatsby 2005, I bought this dress off eBay. It was listed as 1920s, but I think the style is more ’30s. It’s a somewhat transitional shape — neither fully straight nor fully fitted in the bust or waist. The waist is dropped, and the handkerchief hem is just around the knees. The dress

1914 Evening Gown

Posted on September 1, 2006 by Trystan

My first and probably only occasion to wear this gorgeous antique was the Time Travelers Gala at Costume College 2006. The event’s theme was Tango Argentina 1910s, so this gown fit right in. I accessorized the dress with a rhinestone and pearl headband atop my hair piled on my head. I wore long, dangly rhinestone

Gothic French tips! I’ve always wanted to get them (because I failed miserably trying it myself). Got a gel manicure so I can hopefully enjoy this for a while. It’s here, it’s queer! Late mail delivery of my ace/demi stripe silk from @silkbaron!!! My backyard makeover is complete! Added a patio umbrella last weekend & am ready to use the firepit tonight. Coconut bunnies & mango piggies at Peony Seafood Restaurant! Had dim sum with my parents & then we set up the cantilever umbrella on my patio, which was a huge hassle because of filling the giant base with sand. 18th-century but make it goth. I’m incapable of anything else! Another lazy Sunday for these two. I’ve finally got a purple(ish) rose! And lots of pink ones! The pink rose bush is in full sun, while the other is partly shaded. But the hated yellow rose flourished over there so I’m hopeful. Thanks to @the.garden.mamas for planting these beauties! All the other gothy plants seem to be going great too. The chair cushions I made a little while back are finally in place! A friend gave me one of those bat corkscrews! It’s not as quick to use as a regular one, but it sure is cute.
