Aragorn Tunic, Done-ish

I sweated it out in the nearly 100-degree house and almost completed the Aragorn tunic. Omg, do I rock or what?!? This thing looks freakin’ awesome. The perfect silver and black diamond fabric, fully lined, stand-up collar, fold-over closure, totally like the movie costume, and just cool in its own right.

I’m totally self-satisfied with my pattern work on this puppy. I started with a chef’s uniform and got the future King of Gondor. Dude, I can’t draft a pattern for shit, but I sure can bitch-slap a commercial pattern to do my will!

All I need to do is slipstitch the lining into place, then add the loops and buttons (possibly some snaps inside too). Just minor handwork.

I started his costume and with the most important part, so that, if something goes horribly wrong and I can’t get anything else done, he can wear the tunic with black pants and boots and I can wear the Mourning Gown, and we’ll both still be set. Next I’ll start my dress and save his overtunic for last. If that part doesn’t happen, no big whoop, and that’s the part I don’t find especially attractive anyway.
