Satisfied evening

Venetian carnevale

I set the sleeves into the black francaise. They fit and look decent. I see how I could have made them look better by curving in the sleeve head in the front, but it’s not unattractive as-is. Good enough for government work, as they say.

The overall fit of the gown is pretty darn awesome, even without the inside-back lacing. If I run out of time, I could leave out the grommets there, maybe safety-pin the flaps so they’re steady. Now I see the wisdom of that seemingly-random flap of extra lining bit that Kendra made me put in and then take out later! It means that the laced opening starts at my current size, and can only go down from here. Sweeet. She’s so smart — that’s why she makes the big bucks.

Next up, all the pink parts. Which is only 26% as exciting as it sounds. Petticoat and stomacher, ruffles and trims.
